Personal pronouns in English

 Personal pronouns in English are substitutes for nouns and are used to prevent repetition of nouns. In this section, we will get acquainted with different types of personal pronouns in English.

 

 Types of personal pronouns

     Personal subject pronouns: It is a pronoun that replaces the subject of the sentence.
     Personal object pronouns: It is a pronoun that replaces the object of a sentence.

 

Active personal pronoun

The personal pronoun is a pronoun that replaces the subject of the sentence.  Consider the following examples:

" I " like your dress

Objective personal pronouns

Personal pronouns replace the object of the sentence.

This pronoun has two uses:
1. We use personal pronouns instead of sentence objects.

 Can you help " me " please ? 


2. We use personal pronouns in prepositional phrases that have a complementary role after prepositions:
